Things have been pretty crazy over here at Hedvig. Our Series C funding announcement was quickly followed by the reveal of our CloudScale Partner Program 2.0. Our team is rapidly growing (we doubled in 2016!) and our customer and partner momentum is accelerating at breakneck speeds.
But here at Hedvig, we’re never content! We want to push the envelope. With that in mind, I’m pleased to say our ambition and hard work did not go unnoticed. Hedvig was recently recognized in The 15th Annual American Business Awards with a Bronze Stevie® Award for Tech Startup of the Year, Software Category.
Here’s what it means.
The Stevie’s are a coveted industry award. Last year we we won the People’s Choice Stevie Award in the Cloud Backup and Storage category. It’s an honor to be recognized -- and be upgraded -- in this year’s award.
Earning a spot as a Tech Startup of the Year requires significant company, customer, and partner growth over the last year. With continued success in all of these areas, judges thought Hedvig was the perfect candidate to be recognized. More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year.
“Each year the judges find the quality and variety of the nominations to be greater than the year before. The 2017 competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
One judge summed it up best when explaining why Hedvig took home the trophy: "Hedvig has been growing rapidly with Series A, B and C funding already and the acquisition of big name brands like BNP as customers. It is already recognized by Gartner. Moreover, the vision for Universal Data Plane and the future of storage seems innovative."
We are definitely proud, and more importantly, motivated. We expect 2017 to be an even more impressive year for our young company. Keep your eyes peeled for key announcements with our new alliance partner and investor, HPE, channel partners, and customers. The Hedvig team will continue to do work worthy of recognition.
